Kady had her first "kid party" this weekend. We began the celebration on Thursday with a daycare party. Then, Friday she took some cookies to school and we opened her presents from us that evening. We invited ten 4,5, and 6 year olds to our house on Saturday for a few hours of fun and excitement. And we had some fun!!! We started the day off with some playing outside while waiting for the pizza to arrive. Then it was time to EAT! After some cake and ice cream we let the kids take out some "pent-up" anger on a VERY STRONG pinata. We started with the blindfold on and decided that was TOO dangerous with this age. After many swings, a few less legs on the pinata, and some tired arms; it took Chris to break the pinata open. Then - it was a free for all!!! We ended with Kady opening her presents and playing a game. We sent each child home with a bag full of candy, a goody bag and a balloon so their parents could enjoy the fun as well! :) Then - after cleaning all that up - we headed down to P Hill to have Kady's "grown-up party" - as she likes to call it - with Chris' side of the family. We ate and had yet another piece of cake and more ice cream!! Kady had a great day and that is all that matters. I was EXHAUSTED by the time we crawled into bed on Saturday night - but it was worth it! Kady told me this morning - "Thank you mommy for having a party for me." That made it all worthwhile!

Kady helping to make the two "eggless" cakes we prepared for our parties.

Kady posing with the finished cake. This is such an easy and fun cake to make!

Kady blowing out her FIVE candles on her cake!!

The pinata that WOULD NOT break. Kady taking a shot at it! Creed would not get near the thing. He just stood there enjoying the show.

Kady and Creed at Grandma's house. I know these moments will be few and far between as they get older! Got to capture them now!!
