Christmas Fun at the White House
We celebrated Christmas this year with my mom and dad. It has been 5 years since we were in Clinton for Christmas Day - so we were all looking forward to a fun weekend!
We started off Christmas Eve with Grandma White reading Kady and Creed "The Night Before Christmas". It has kind of become a tradition for Grandma to read this to her grandkids.
Kady asked Santa for just one thing - a Jack in the Box. Well, Santa delivered with a Tigger in the box. The box has a sensor on it - so it will surprise you without ever having to turn a crank! Unfortunately, it gave mommy quite a scare in the middle of the night a few nights later. It is important to make sure Tigger is turned off for evening time if you plan on sleeping well that night;)
Creed and Daddy in their matching PJs for Christmas morning. We got these PJs for $3.00 at the Disney Store at the Landing in Branson last January. We put them away and surprised the kids with our matching pair on Christmas morning. They thought that was pretty neat! (And so did we)
Creed sitting in front of his loot of gifts on Christmas morning. You can tell by the look on his face he is saying - "Come on mom, enough with the pictures. Let's get to opening these presents!!"
Kady and Mommy early Christmas morning.
Kady and Creed opening a few of the presents they have to share! :)
The boys with Grandpa - checking out Grandpa's train.
Creed with his cousin Isaiah. They are supposed to be taking a nap. Does it look like much sleeping (or even resting) is taking place to you???
The cousins gathering around the table for Christmas evening snacks. Do they look tired yet? No way - we still got another round of opening presents to go!!!
The girls showing off their sweaters from Grandma. Savannah, Millie, Kady and Olivia.
Creed and his cousin Luke. Creed thinks the sun rises and sets with Luke (Wuke).
Dad in the noise-reducing earphones he got this year. My sister-in-law said it best "Just think, Good Morning Vietnam!"
Kady, Savannah and Millie. We are missing Olivia in this picture!
Kady and "her team" getting ready for their scavenger hunt on Saturday morning.
My hiding place for the scavenger hunt. It looks like I have a lot of room. I DO NOT. By the time the kids found me, I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get out!:)
The crew (minus Creed, long story) getting ready to go see The Sequel at the movies.
Grandma taught the girls a new trick. Putting Cheerios on your nose and then getting them to your mouth without dropping them on the floor. Yes, I did say Grandma taught them this trick! It was so much fun to watch their faces - and eyes - as they did their tasks!
We got LOTS of good, fluffy snow on Sunday morning - so there was no church in Clinton. So - being the good Sunday School teacher that she is - mom decided to have a small Sunday School lesson for the little ones.
This is how excited Creed was about the Sunday School hour. Not that he doesn't love Grandma - but let's just say - he knew he had plenty of new toys just wanting to be played with!!
Since we got snowed in on Sunday morning, Luke and Creed were having fun in the tunnel and tent that he got for Christmas.
And since many of you have not seen the fam in awhile - I thought I'd add in a few pictures of the "older generation" of kids. This is Keith and I having a wonderful brother and sister embrace late one evening. Now - if you only knew how many takes it took before we got one with both of us "behaving".
