Tooth Lost - Literally

I got a phone call this afternoon from one of the aides at Kady's school. She wanted to let me know that Kady had ran into some poles on the playground and knocked her tooth out. This tooth was a little loose - but not quite ripe for pulling - so she told me Kady was pretty upset and was bleeding quite a bit. She was telling me that one of the boys came running over to her telling her that Kady was crying and there was blood everywhere! Well, there was a little blood and a lot of crying when the teacher got to Kady. However, Kady told me at home that evening that she was not crying because her mouth hurt, but because she could not find her tooth!! But, she said her teacher told her that she was sure we could leave the tooth fairy a note and she would still leave money. When Kady told me this - I wondered just how long the crying had ensued? Had she been crying all afternoon and her teacher was pulling out all the stops to console her? Or was this just a discussion she had with her teacher later that afternoon? Oh well! Anyway - the tooth was not found, the note was left, and the tooth fairy arrived with money. Life was OK again in the morning!
