We left Wednesday evening and headed to Clinton to visit with my family for Thanksgiving. My kids were asking if we were at Grandma's yet when we got into Springfield - so we knew they were excited and it was going to be a LONG ride! Once we got into Grandma's the kids played together for awhile and then it was off to bed LATE that evening.
Thanksgiving morning started bright and early for most of us. All the kids were up by 7 AM (even after a LATE evening). Chris and my brother and his wife headed off to a Turkey Trot run that morning. Let's just say - Chris took pictures and they ran. It was a nice quiet morning - the kids played and we got lunch together for dinner. Once we all ATE and ATE and ATE and were miserable, the kids (minus Creed who NEEDED a nap) headed outside to play some football with their daddy and uncles. My sister-in-laws and I took in a movie that evening - "Four Christmases". It was pretty good, if you were wondering. While we were gone the guys (with a little help from Grandma) helped feed the kids left-overs and then made a pilgrim craft with the children.

We put the kids in front of the TV to watch Incredibles. We knew better than to try and get Creed to watch that movie (it's a little scary for him) so he enjoyed some reading time with Pa-Pa. After getting all the kids in bed - it was time for us to hit the sack. I had to get up at 3 AM to go shopping!!!

The next morning came EARLY - I heard a knock on my parent's front door at 2:58 AM. It was my brother Lance - early. And, did he wait in his van for us? NO - he banged on the front door (where my mom and the girls were sleeping) Let's just say, he was not thinking that early in the morning. So - soon after his arrival - my brother Lance, myself, and my sister-in-law Crystal headed out to do some "Black Friday" shopping. We got to Kohl's at 4:02 AM and it was already full. The first person had actually already checked out! We had a plan and stuck by it and I got ALL my Christmas gifts purchased except for one!!! And we were back to my parent's house by 12:3o PM. Success!!! (I have to give a "shout out" to my husband who got up at 4 AM to get to Wal-mart when it opened to get a "few more things" on our list) While we were shopping, my brother Keith and Chris took care of the kids. Which was not easy, considering that Creed had also been up since about 4 AM!! They played with the kids and fixed them a pancake breakfast! Thanks guys!!!

After getting back, we knew that sleeping was probably not going to be an option for us since the kids were rearing to go. So - after inspecting our loot the guys took the kids out to play another round of football. (Well, Keith and Chris did - Lance snuck a nap in somehow!!)
Since I was so tired - I don't remember too much of Friday afternoon. The kids did a couple crafts and we adults played 80's Trivial Pursuit. (Let's just say - we didn't do so well)
While dinner was being made that evening, the kids enjoyed some play time with Grandma. She played Christmas songs on the piano and they sat on the floor and sang right along with her. The sat there for almost an hour!!! It was really neat!
That evening - it was time for a little more Polar Express and then bed came early for all!!
Saturday morning - the boys (Chris, Lance and Keith) made a HUGE breakfast! Chris had three little helpers assisting him in making biscuits!
After we filled our bellies - once again - my brother Keith and his crew had to head home. We got a quick "kid pic" (which as you can see could be considered a blooper) they headed out. Soon after lunch - we headed out as well. Creed was so exhausted he fell asleep right after we pulled out of mom and dad's driveway and didn't wake up until we pulled into our town!!!
We had a great weekend. It is not often that my entire family gets to get together and the kids love being with their cousins. But - not to worry. In less than three weeks we will be together again for our family Christmas! (And maybe a shorter blog report!) Sorry!
