My Soccer Girl

Kady is playing soccer again this Fall. She begged and begged to play again, so we signed her up again for the County League. Then, soon after her first practice, she told me she didn't want to play this year. You see, last year, Kady was one of the oldest and fastest on her team. This year she has moved up a division in the league and now she is one of the youngest and least experienced players on the team. My competitive little girl is having a hard time accepting the fact that there are other players much better than her. Not to mention, it has been about 100 degrees for every game and practice, so that just makes the incentive to get out there and play hard not quite as intense. But - we told her she was going to stick it out and play this year - and she does enjoy it. I think she'd just enjoy it more if she was able to be the center of attention. But - wouldn't we all! :) Another life lesson, I really wish those stopped coming more frequently. :(
