"I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart."

Kady's comment of the moment:

We had accidentally purchased some "Medium" Salsa instead of "Mild". Kady was telling us how hot it was and then said, "I wonder what "LARGE" tastes like?!"

Creed's comment of the moment:

Creed jumping up and down with excitement yelling - "Yeah, I love Open House. Woo-Hoo!!" And then, without missing a beat, looks up at me and asks, "What is Open House, by the way."

Sometimes it rains, sometimes it POURS

** This blog is long and you may find it a little bit whiny. If so, feel free to skip to the last paragraph. This blog is more for me. In a few weeks I may look back and realize we survived!! :) .** Last Saturday morning - at 3 AM - Creed woke up and never went back to sleep. By 6 AM he had a fever of 101. Told me his head hurt so I assumed he had a sinus infection since his allergies have been in full swing. We have no urgent care or Saturday service here. Didn't see a point in the ER for a sinus infection. He laid around all day Saturday. Sunday morning fever still. Then chills, then the constant running nose, sneezing, aches, no appetite - you know where I'm going. Sunday afternoon - fever of 104. Yikes! Monday morning - doctor. We wait, and wait and as we are sitting there waiting Creed throws up. Great!! At least he found the trash can. We see the doctor. He has influenza. Not a complete shocker at this point. She says sometimes influenza can cause stomach cramps and vomiting. OK. She checks his breathing, etc. He also has bronchitis and fluid in his lungs. Sent home with Tamiflu, Antibiotic, and Breathing Treatments. So - we get home. The vomiting continues. The tamiflu goes in, the tamiflu comes out. The antibiotic goes in, the antibiotic comes out. The liquid goes in, the liquid comes out. (You get my drift) He continues with the fever. Tuesday morning - call the doctor. It is now too late for the Tamiflu - give it up. Just try and push liquids until the vomiting finally subsides. Tuesday afternoon. Vomiting stops, fever breaks, and we are able to get one dose of antibiotic in. YEAH! Tuesday night - vomiting begins again. Still not eating or drinking. Wednesday morning - fever is back - vomiting again - coughing has intensified. Call the doctor Wed afternoon. They are gone. Nurse advises to continue to try what we have already been trying - ice chips, Popsicles, small sips, etc. Wednesday night - fever goes up - medication will not stay down. Creed has been asleep on the couch (which he has not left since Saturday) since 1:30 PM. Wednesday night - Anita's fever and chills begin!!! Thursday morning - Creed is able to drink a little and finally pees. We contact doctor and they get him in. After peeing in a cup, they state his keotones are high - but he is not severely dehydrated yet. After a chest xray - it is confirmed - he has pneumonia. YEAH!! She confirms what we assumed, he had a stomach bug on top of the influenza. Dr. decides no hospitalization but if liquids do not stay down this evening - then Friday morning - hospital. Thursday night - antibiotic goes in and antibiotic STAYS in!! YEAH! Thursday night - Anita's fever and chills increase. Friday morning - Creed drinks more and pees - Dr. excuses him from the hospital visit with strict orders of drinking, taking meds and breathing treatments. Friday morning - Anita awakes with a SEVERELY sore throat. Friday afternoon - Kady comes complaining of a sore throat. Phone call to Dr and Kady gets strep test. POSITIVE! Kady gets a shot! Anita finds out result and calls her Dr. to get strep test. Dr. closed (it's Friday late afternoon of course!) Saturday morning - Creed is a LOT better - Kady feels OK - Mom is still not doing so hot. Started antibiotic in the night on Friday - and it had not yet taken effect. Kids play outside. Anita falls asleep on couch. Creed outside with no shirt. Creed's antibiotic have sunlight warning. Sunlight warning means something. Creed is fried!! Saturday night - everyone finds their bed except Anita. Anita still on couch. Sunday morning - Anita wakes up and can swallow!! YEAH!!! Tired from no sleeping the last week - but the end is in sight! Thank the Lord for a WONDERFUL husband who even during his BUSY time of the year found time to take care of each of us - take us to doctor appointments - keep us fed and clothed. Thank the LORD for WONDERFUL friends who went to the grocery story or Walmart so Chris could take us to the doctor or take care of us at home. Thank the Lord for wonderful friends who brought supper so my husband could sit down and relax and eat before having to fill another glass, get some more medication, etc. Now - the part that will make you smile. Saturday morning, I was still on the couch. Creed went in to use the restroom and all the sudden I see him coming toward me. He has a small Dixie cup in his hand. He says to me, "Look mom, I peed in a cup!!" All the while spilling just a little at a time as he makes his way towards me! He was SO proud of himself. I let him glory for a milli-second and then reminded him that we DO NOT pee in a cup unless we are at the Doctor's Office!!! Looking forward to a VERY uneventful next week!
